air transport network of South India.
Indian Airlines and private airlines,
NEPC and Jet Airways operate daily and
weekly flights connecting Hyderabad with
Delhi; Chennai; Bangalore; Mumbai; and
other cities like Visakhapatnam,
Calcutta and Nagpur. Hyderabad Airport
at Begumpet is surrounded by residential
areas of the twin cities of Hyderabad /
Secunderabad. Tourist taxis (including
pre-paid service) and auto-rickshaws are
easily available.
Driving time to most hotels in Hyderabad
is less than 30 minutes by either
transport. The newly constructed
International aerodrome and totally
redone train services have added to the
pleasure and convenience of Hyderabad
travel.
By Train
The world's second largest railway under
one management, the Indian Railways,
carries more than ten million people
every day.The twin cities of Hyderabad
and Secunderabad are extensively covered
by the railway network. The Charminar
Express provides an excellent overnight
connection to Chennai. Some of the other
major centers linked to Hyderabad/Secunderabad
are Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi,
Bhubaneshwar, Calcutta, Cochin and
Rajkot. Secunderabad railway station,
the more used of the two, is centrally
located. The city bus service operates
from the railway station.
